Join us as a Mechanical Engineer Your main responsibilities PRIMARY FUNCTION / POSITION OVERVIEW: The Mechanical Engineer – Technical Support (Service) provides onsite and remote mechanical engineering support for installed elevator systems with an emphasis on troubleshooting, failure analysis, and service restoration. This role serves as a technical resource to field mechanics, supervisors, and operations management, supporting complex mechanical issues that cannot be resolved through standard service procedures. The engineer is responsible for diagnosing issues related to hoisting systems, doors, guide systems, brakes, buffers, car frames, counterweights, governors, and safety devices, determining root cause, and recommending safe, code-compliant corrective actions. Support is delivered via phone consultation, remote diagnostics, and direct onsite job site visits.This position requires extensive field engagement, strong mechanical problem-solving skills, and the ability to document findings in clear, professional reports that can be used for internal engineering review, customer communication, and long-term reliability improvement. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Mechanical Diagnostics & Safety Read, interpret, and apply mechanical drawings, layout plans, exploded views, specifications, and installation tolerances. Evaluate mechanical safety devices including governors, safeties, buffers, and braking systems for proper condition and operation. Ensure that all troubleshooting and corrective recommendations comply with applicable codes, standards, and company safety requirements. Service Recovery & Post-Repair Verification Support mechanical verification following major repairs, component replacement, or adjustments. Validate proper mechanical operation through observation, measurement, and functional testing. Confirm that systems are stable, safe, and suitable for return to normal service. Quality, Compliance & Record Keeping Ensure all findings and recommendations align with internal quality standards and engineering guidelines. Maintain traceable documentation of site conditions, technical decisions, and corrective actions Elevator Mechanical Systems Expertise Provide in-depth technical support for door systems (operators, tracks, hangers, rollers, closers), hoisting machines, sheaves, bearings, guide systems, suspension members, and structural components. Diagnose ride quality issues such as noise, vibration, leveling inconsistencies, or car sway from a mechanical perspective. Support alignment, adjustment, and setting of mechanical systems following repair or replacement. What you bring Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering 2 years minimum: Engineering understanding (mechanical; print reading) 2 years minimum: Supply Chain and Industrialization knowhow and experience 2 years minimum: Analytical competency (data mining, problem analysis; strong Excel skills) Mechanical Engineering, drawing and BOM Manufacturing process, equipment, routing preferred Multiple task management and project management Problem solving skills or lean six sigma Analytical competency (data mining, problem analysis; strong Excel skills) Strong communication and interpersonal skills SAP knowledge of material management, including design and implementation What’s in it for you?
