About this role

Ready to stop advising from the sidelines and start owning the outcome? If you've spent years helping organisations transform and you're ready to plant your flag, lead from the inside and see your strategies become reality — Swiss Re has the role for you. About the Role Legal & Compliance (L&C) at Swiss Re is on a transformation journey — becoming more forward-looking, technology-enabled and deeply integrated with the business. As the L&C Strategy Deployment & Adoption Lead , you will step out of the deck and into the driver's seat. This is the role where strategy meets execution: you'll translate a 3–5 year ambition into a structured, high-impact programme, mobilise senior stakeholders across a complex global organisation and ensure that transformation doesn't just get planned — it gets done . This is a senior, highly visible role for a professional who thrives on complexity, communicates with precision and knows how to turn strategic intent into measurable outcomes. If you've built your career in management consulting and are ready for the next challenge — one with real ownership, real accountability and real impact — this is your moment. Key Responsibilities Translate strategy into action: Convert the L&C 3–5 year strategy into a structured roadmap and initiative portfolio, defining milestones, dependencies, risks and success measures with the rigour of a seasoned programme leader Drive governance and transparency: Maintain a clear, real-time view of progress, benefits and risks for senior management and governance bodies, including quarterly updates and Board-level decision materials Prioritise for impact: Support the prioritisation of strategic initiatives based on business value, risk impact, feasibility and strategic relevance — making tough trade-offs with confidence Stay ahead of the curve: Monitor external trends across legal, compliance, regulation and AI — including evolving operating models — and translate insights into actionable recommendations for the L&C Executive team Build stakeholder ecosystems: Design and manage structured engagement across Legal, Compliance, Risk, HR, Business Units and enabling functions, including technology and data partners — creating alignment where it doesn't yet exist Champion AI adoption: Drive the adoption of AI-enabled ways of working across L&C, identifying opportunities to improve productivity, decision-making and knowledge management; diagnose adoption barriers and develop targeted, practical interventions Shape the narrative: Define and maintain the L&C story across leadership forums, Town Halls and strategic communications — positioning L&C as a forward-looking, business-enabling function; coach and support senior leaders to communicate strategy in a compelling, practical and business-relevant way Lead communications strategy: Develop and coordinate the L&C strategic communication and engagement plan, including messaging around major strategic initiatives, AI transformation and function-wide achievements Run the engine room: Prepare and facilitate steering meetings, working groups and decision forums — ensuring clear ownership, accountability, follow-through and timely escalation of risks or delivery issues Measure what matters: Define KPIs and success measures for strategic initiatives, tracking and communicating tangible impact on efficiency, quality, risk mitigation and stakeholder experience; help build an L&C value story that links execution to business outcomes About the Team The L&C Strategy Office is a small, high-impact team sitting at the heart of Swiss Re's Legal & Compliance function. Working closely with senior Legal and Compliance leadership, business stakeholders and enabling functions, the team drives Swiss Re's ambition to manage Legal and Compliance risks in a forward-looking, efficient and business-enabling manner. The team plays a pivotal role in shaping how L&C evolves — connecting strategy, execution and communication to deliver real, measurable outcomes across the organisation. You won't be one of hundreds on an engagement — you'll be one of a small group of people who genuinely move the needle. About You You are a senior transformation professional — possibly with a consulting background — who is ready to own outcomes rather than recommend them. You bring sharp communication skills, sound judgment and a proven ability to influence across a complex global organisation without relying on formal authority. You are energised by ambiguity, skilled at structuring complex topics and confident in helping senior stakeholders align around practical, high-impact decisions. You know how to build trust quickly, navigate organisational dynamics and keep multiple workstreams moving simultaneously — all while never losing sight of the bigger picture. We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements: Significant experience in strategy deployment, business transformation, change management, operating model transformation or management consulting — with a track record of taking complex programmes from design to delivery Executive-level communication skills , including the ability to prepare and present senior management and Board-level materials that drive decisions, not just inform them Proven stakeholder influence — a demonstrated ability to align senior, cross-functional stakeholders in a global organisation, driving momentum without formal authority Structured problem-solving at scale — the ability to take strategic ambition and break it into executable, prioritised plans with clear ownership and measurable outcomes Global programme management experience — a track record of managing complex, cross-functional initiatives across geographies and functions These are additional nice to haves: Experience with AI, digital transformation or technology-enabled operating models — particularly in driving adoption and behaviour change Familiarity with culture, integrity or behavioural change programmes Experience working directly with senior executives, Boards, Audit Committees or equivalent governance bodies Understanding of governance, risk management, controls or regulatory environments — particularly in financial services or insurance Fluency in additional languages beyond English For Slovakia, the base salary range for this position is between EUR 3,100 and EUR 5,100 per month for a full-time role. The specific salary offered considers: The requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role The applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based bonus. Eligibility may vary depending on the terms of Swiss Re policies and your employment contract. We provide feedback to all candidates via email.
