About the position

The Local Buyer/Expeditor F/M is responsible for sourcing the materials, components, and services required for production and operations, ensuring timely delivery and optimal inventory levels. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, expediting orders, and resolving any issues that may impact the supply chain in order to support seamless manufacturing and business continuity.

This assignment offers a unique opportunity to gain experience on a major offshore project in a multicultural environment.

Key Responsibilities As a Buyer

• Search, select, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best conditions and costs for materials and services. • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery and quality. • Review and analyze purchase requisitions, identify potential savings, and select the most suitable suppliers. • Prepare and issue purchase orders and contracts in line with company policies and procedures. • Monitor and track supplier performance, resolving any issues that may arise. • Collaborate with other departments to ensure procurement needs are met and activities are completed on time. • Conduct regular supplier evaluations and support supplier performance improvement initiatives. • Negotiate prices and terms to reduce costs and improve profitability. • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and delivery information. • Ensure compliance with project policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

As an Expediter

• Order Tracking: Proactively monitor and manage supplier purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and compliance with contract specifications. • Supplier Communication: Act as the main point of contact to obtain updates, resolve bottlenecks, and verify shipping schedules. • Delay Mitigation: Identify potential bottlenecks and develop mitigation plans (e.g., manufacturing delays, shipping issues) to meet project deadlines. • Documentation & Reporting: Review supplier documents (drawings, certificates) and prepare reports on project progress, material shortages, and shipment status. • Quality Inspection: Coordinate with the Materials and Logistics project team to inspect received goods and verify compliance with specifications.

Ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services by managing supplier relationships and monitoring orders from purchase to receipt. Key tasks include tracking shipments, identifying delays, communicating with suppliers to mitigate risks, updating ERP systems, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Brief Presentation of the Reporting Department: Procurement Department

The Site Procurement Department plays a critical role in ensuring smooth operations, keeping the project within budget, and making sure equipment is available when needed. As the project relies heavily on specialized assets and equipment, effective procurement management is the foundation of this process, enabling cost control, risk mitigation, and supply chain optimization.

About you:

• Education: Master’s degree in Project Management, Economics, International Trade Management, Supply Chain, etc. • You are rigorous, a strong team player, proactive, and able to respond efficiently and professionally to operational needs. • You demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and can handle problems thoughtfully and effectively. • You are comfortable working with diverse cultures and environments. • You are motivated, resilient, and ready to fully commit to your mission. • Fluency in English is mandatory for effective communication.
