Due to a successful funding bid from the Armed Forces Education Trust, we are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join our amazing team to support learning across the school for the next academic year. We have opportunities equivalent to up to 2 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) positions and welcome applications from candidates seeking either full-time or part-time hours. As these roles are funded for 1 academic year, they will be a temporary position.
Available working patterns include:
Full Time: 8:45am - 3:15pm, Monday to Friday (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break)Part Time Morning: 8:45am - 1:15pm, Monday to FridayPart Time Afternoon: 12:00pm - 3:15pm, Monday to FridayWe are happy to consider applications for any of these patterns and may be able to offer flexibility for the right candidates and please state which pattern you would like to be considered for in your application.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children's learning, wellbeing and development. Working closely with teachers and other professionals, you will help in supporting our children in a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
Responsibilities may include:
Supporting children in the classroom, individually and in small groupsHelping to deliver engaging learning activitiesEncouraging children's confidence, independence and social developmentSupporting children with additional learning needs where appropriateAssisting with classroom organisation and preparation of resourcesPromoting positive behaviour and high expectationsSupporting children's wellbeing and safeguarding at all timesWe are looking for someone who:
Has a genuine passion for helping children learn and succeedHas GSCE (or equivalent) English and Maths grade C or aboveIs patient, caring and positiveWorks well as part of a teamHas excellent communication and interpersonal skillsIs flexible, proactive and willing to learnCan build positive relationships with children, families and colleaguesPrevious experience of working with children is desirable but not essential.
