About the Role
As a SEND Teacher at Southfield, you will:
Deliver creative, engaging and personalised learning for pupils with complex needsCreate a nurturing classroom environment where every child can succeedWork closely with teaching assistants, therapists, families and external professionalsTrack, assess and celebrate pupil progress and developmentContribute to the wider life, vision and continuous improvement of the schoolYou will play a key role in helping pupils develop confidence, independence, communication skills and a love of learning. Is passionate about inclusive education and enabling every child to reach their potentialDemonstrates strong classroom practice and behaviour managementIs resilient, reflective and nurturing in their approachEnjoys working as part of a committed and supportive teamHas high expectations for themselves and their pupilsCan deliver a commitment to SEND and inclusive practiceDesirables would include experience working with autism and complex needs and knowledge of strategies such as TEACCH, Makaton or sensory approachesSouthfield School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
