Job summary
In this role you will be working withina supportive andeducationally focused environment andwill be providingjuniorlevel experience(equivalent to FY2/ST1-2)in a teaching hospital withinall the main medical sub-specialities.
This post is based at Royal PrestonHospital,andyou will be an integral part of our team and will be involved directly with the day-to-day functioning ofMedical Assessment Unit(MAU), Emergency department (ED)andSame day emergency care (SDEC).There may be some cross site working as and whenrequired.
This post will be until 31st March 2027.
Main duties of the job
You willbe requiredto work closely with GP and Emergency Department colleagues while accepting patients for assessment inSDEC.
Our SDEC accepts ED ambulatory patients and GP referrals, who are assessed by ACPs and junior doctors in the unit. These patients are reviewed by senior decision makers and then a final management plan is made. The majority ofthe patients are discharged with follow up plans asrequired.
Working on the SDEC providesgood learning opportunities with one-to-one interactions with consultants and registrars.
