Job summary
Beeston Village Surgery is seeking a Patient care advisor to take on a key administrative role within our forward-thinking, community-based GP practice.
Serving a patient population of just under 8,000, you will play a vital role.
Working collaboratively with both clinical and administrative teams, you will provide high-quality, patient-centred administrative services.
This is a diverse administrative role within the GP surgery. Which allows you to switch between patient facing tasks such as working on the reception front and the phones as well as back office administrative work.
Main duties of the job
Meet and receive patients and help deal with their needs including but not limited to: New patient registration Appointment signposting and booking for all Primary Care Health Professionals and knowledge of accessing appointments in Secondary Care All aspects of incoming/outgoing mail/email and online queries Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly administration tasks Appropriate administration tasks Electronic pathology system Sick note, appliance and equipment requests Repeat prescription service

Beeston Village Surgery is a friendly, supportive, and progressive GP practice based in Leeds, caring for a growing population of just under 8,000 patients.
Our clinical team includes a GP Partner, Salaried GPs, GP Registrars, ACPs, Nurses, HCAs. Our administrative team consists of Practice Manager, Reception Admin manager, Secretary and Patient care advisors. We provide a full range of primary care services including chronic disease management, minor surgery, family planning, immunisations, and health screening.

Main Purpose
Work to the direction of the Practice Manager in supporting the medical, nursing and administrative teams in administrative activities to provide high quality and patient care services to meet the needs of the practice population.
The person carrying out this role should:
Establish and maintain timely, appropriate and organised ways of working during the working day
Establish and maintain productive working relationships with the Practice Team.
Carry out duties in a quiet, timely, efficient, professional and respectful way.
Work closely with duty clinician to support and maintain first contact assessment way of working
Achieve and maintain core competencies
Obtain daily brief from Team Leader, Patient Care Adviser Team or Practice Manager at start of shift
Establish and maintain daily operational links with the all clinical staff
Carry out appropriate duties to maintain adequate patient services during surgery hours (Monday, Wednesday 7am 6pm, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8am 6pm)
Maintain code of confidentiality at all times
Establish and maintain good working links with the Practice Manager.

GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths or equivalent
