About this role
About Us
TEEG is a dedicated human services nonprofit organization focused on empowering individuals and strengthening families in Northeast Connecticut. For nearly four decades, we have provided vital community resources, including food security, youth services, senior programs, and state and federal benefits navigation. Our team works collaboratively to build a better, more supportive future for our community.
The Opportunity
We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented HR & Finance Generalist to own the people-operations and payables side of our small but mighty organization. This is a true generalist role: one week you might be running payroll and answering a benefits question, the next you're processing vendor invoices and setting up a new purchase order. If you like variety, take pride in accuracy, and want a role where your work is directly visible to leadership, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
• Run payroll each pay period and serve as the go-to person for payroll and benefits questions.
• Manage employee records, onboarding, offboarding, and leave/PTO tracking.
• Administer employee benefits and serve as liaison to our brokers and carriers.
• Process vendor invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports.
• Maintain vendor files and support month-end close alongside the Fiscal Administrator.
• Help keep our HR policies and purchasing procedures current, compliant, and easy for staff to follow.
What You Bring
• 3+ years of experience in HR administration, payroll, bookkeeping, or a mix of both.
• Comfort with payroll/HRIS tools (e.g., BambooHR, Gusto, ADP, Paychex) and accounting software (e.g., Aplos, and/ or QuickBooks).
• A sharp eye for detail and a genuine trustworthiness with confidential information.
• Nonprofit experience is a plus, but not required — we care more about your judgment and follow-through.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $45,000-$55,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include health insurance, 401k, PTO policy, holidays. $25-$30 DOE
