About this role
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer (Fitter) who is looking for an opportunity to work within a supportive and close-knit team in a progressive and growing company.
Working for JNL, one of the Wairarapa's largest employers, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our manufacturing equipment through both scheduled and breakdown maintenance.
This is a hands-on role where you will:
• Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
• Diagnose faults and identify the causes of unplanned equipment downtime.
• Complete repairs efficiently to minimise production interruptions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and share ideas to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
• Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams in a large manufacturing environment.
This is a day shift position, Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm

What we need from you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Fitter, or similar trade-qualified professional.
• Sound knowledge of mechanical maintenance and repair practices.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
• The ability to work independently and make sound decisions when required.
• Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential.
Essential requirements
Applicants must have:
• New Zealand Certificate in Mechanical and Maintenance Engineering (Level 4) or an equivalent qualification, or relevant industry experience.
• Welding certification.
• Full New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence.
• Forklift (F) Endorsement is advantageous but not essential.
• New Zealand residency or a valid New Zealand work visa.
