About this role
Jack’s Point Hospitality is looking for a hands-on and highly organised Housekeeping Supervisor to join our Guest Services team.
Set amongst the spectacular landscapes of Queenstown, Jack’s Point is home to a world-class golf course, premium accommodation and hospitality facilities. This is an opportunity to play an important role in ensuring our guests experience the exceptional standards and attention to detail that Jack’s Point is known for.
As Housekeeping Supervisor, you will oversee housekeeping standards across our accommodation, Clubhouse and communal facilities, while acting as the key point of contact for our external housekeeping contractor. You will combine hands-on housekeeping with day-to-day coordination, quality control and guest readiness, ensuring every property is presented to a consistently high standard.
As the housekeeping function grows, you will also have the opportunity to take on increased responsibility for an in-house housekeeping team, including rostering, training and day-to-day supervision.
The Role
Reporting to the Rooms Division Manager/Lodging Manager, your responsibilities will include:
• Oversee housekeeping standards across Jack’s Point accommodation, Clubhouse and communal facilities.
• Coordinate the external housekeeping contractor, including schedules, guest requirements and cleaning quality.
• Conduct pre-arrival and post-departure property checks, addressing cleaning, presentation, damage and maintenance issues.
• Undertake hands-on cleaning and presentation duties, including accommodation and shared facilities.
• Manage guest amenities, cleaning supplies and consumables, including stock levels, ordering and records.
• Maintain accurate housekeeping records and report operational issues to the Rooms Division Manager/Lodging Manager.
• As the in-house team develops, support rostering, training, task allocation and day-to-day supervision of housekeeping staff.
• Maintain high standards of guest service, health and safety, cleanliness and presentation across the property.
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone who takes genuine pride in their work and understands that the small details make a big difference to the guest experience.
You will ideally have:
• At least 12 months' experience in housekeeping supervision, hotel operations or a similar hospitality role.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Experience maintaining accurate records, stock levels and inventory.
• Confidence using standard computer software, including spreadsheets, and property management systems.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with contractors and colleagues.
• A calm, professional and practical approach, even when things get busy.
• The physical ability and willingness to undertake hands-on cleaning duties across accommodation, Clubhouse, communal and golf facilities.
• A genuine commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and guest service.
• Flexibility to work rostered shifts across a 7-day week, including weekends and public holidays.
• A reliable, proactive and team-focused approach.
Desirable:
• Experience using Opera Cloud or a similar property management system.
• Previous experience coordinating or supervising third-party contractors or service providers.
• A full New Zealand driver's licence.
Why Jack's Point?
This is a great opportunity to join a new and unique hospitality operation from the ground up in one of New Zealand's most spectacular locations. You'll work across a varied environment rather than a traditional hotel housekeeping department, with responsibility spanning premium accommodation, the Clubhouse, communal facilities and the golf course environment.
You'll also have the opportunity to help shape and develop our housekeeping operation as it grows, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys being hands-on while taking ownership and responsibility for high standards.
Successful candidates will be offered competitive remuneration and the opportunity to progress in their career. The role is full-time permanent, with a minimum of 30 hours guaranteed per week, with flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and rostered early morning or late evening shifts as required by the business.
Position available from late October.
