What will you do?

We are the Island Private School of Limassol in Cyprus are seeking a passionate and experienced Primary Greek Teacher.

We are also in the process of building our new school campus on a beautiful 50,000 m2 site which is to be completed approximately by the end of 2027 and will include kindergarten, elementary and high school, an international boarding school, and accommodation for teachers. This is a great opportunity to join a growing school on the cusp of a major growth and transformation in our story.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Teach engaging and interactive lessons that align with the Greek primary curriculum and ideally knowledge of our Montessori, Waldorf and IB programs

• Encourage students to explore various aspects of the Greek language and history.

• Foster an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning styles and cultural backgrounds.

• Create and implement effective assessment strategies to evaluate students' language proficiency, literary analysis skills, and understanding of Greek cultural context.

• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units that integrate Greek language and literature with other subject areas

• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic and personal development.

• Participate in parent-teacher conferences, departmental meetings, and professional development activities.

• Contribute to the school's extracurricular activities, such as literary clubs, language immersion programs, or cultural events related to Greek language and literature.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Greek Language and Literature as a prerequisite or related field. A master's degree is preferred.

• Recognised teaching certification and/or relevant teaching experience,

• Proficiency in Greek language and a deep understanding of Greek literature, history, and culture.

• Familiarity with inquiry-based learning, differentiated instruction, and student-centered teaching methodologies.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, international school environment.

• Commitment to ongoing professional development, learning and a reflective approach to teaching practice.

Working Conditions

There are 19 classes per week and the hours are 08.00-16.00 or 09.00-17,00 depending on schedules.
