ICBL is Barbados’ largest general insurance provider, writing business in all areas of general insurance including, Property, Liability, Accident, Motor, Marine, Aviation and Transit Insurance. ICBL also offers insurance coverage for Group Life, Group Health and Individual and Group Pensions.
We are recruiting a Customer Experience Ambassador who will be responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience from the moment a customer enters the branch until they leave. This role serves as the first point of contact, creating a welcoming and professional environment while ensuring customers are efficiently connected to the products, services and team members that best meet their needs. The Customer Experience Ambassador will act as a customer advocate by managing customer flow, providing timely assistance, promoting digital service channels and supporting branch operations. Through proactive engagement and service excellence, the incumbent will contribute to increased customer satisfaction, customer loyalty and positive brand perception.
The position is at the level of Grade 7 in the Company’s compensation structure and will report to the Business Performance Manager or designate.
Main Areas of Responsibility:
• Delivers exceptional customer service that exceeds customer expectations.
• Creates a positive and professional first impression for all customers and visitors.
• Welcomes customers promptly and identifies their needs through active listening and effective questioning.
• Maintains regular communication with customers during wait times and provides updates as necessary.
• Represents the organization in a courteous, professional and customer-focused manner.
• Builds and maintains positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Supports team members in delivering an outstanding customer experience.
• Encourages customers to participate in customer feedback initiatives, including surveys.
• Performs other related duties as assigned and necessary for the development of the Insurance Corporation of Barbados Limited.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
• Minimum of six (6) CXC General or O’Level subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
• Certificate or training in Customer Service, Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field would be an asset.
• Minimum of one (1) year of customer service experience.
• Experience within the insurance, financial services, or related industry would be an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
• Must be able to show proficiency in the following areas:
• Systems and operational excellence.
• Products, services & customer support.
• Teamwork and collaboration.
