Position Overview

The Associate Therapist provides high-quality, LGBTQIA+-affirming mental health services to youth, adults, and families. This role includes individual, family, and group therapy, and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

We are seeking a clinician who is clinically strong, culturally responsive, and energized by working at the intersection of identity, faith, and community.

What You’ll Do

Clinical Care

• Provide evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy to LGBTQIA+ youth, adults, and families

• Conduct comprehensive intakes, risk assessments, treatment planning, termination notes, and duties related to ethical care of clients.

• Maintain a consistent caseload. Offer 28-30 sessions per week. Complete an average 25 therapy sessions per week. Monday thru Friday. Work hours can be as early as 9 AM and as late as 7 PM (in-person) and 8 PM (online)

• Offer evening availability to support students and working families (10 evening sessions per week. Evening begins at 4 PM)

• Develop and update treatment plans in alignment with best practices and payer requirements

• Complete timely, accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA and insurance standards

Crisis & Safety Support

• Conduct suicide risk assessments and create safety plans when appropriate

• Provide crisis intervention within scope of practice

• Coordinate with internal teams when higher levels of care are needed

Collaboration & Team Engagement

• Participate in weekly clinical consultation and supervision (2 hours total)

• Attend organization-wide trainings and in-person gatherings (twice annually)

• Collaborate with operations staff to ensure seamless client onboarding and billing processes

• Engage in internal communication platforms to support team coordination

Community Engagement/Marketing

• Contribute monthly to community-facing programming (e.g., support groups, activity nights, drop-in hours) as part of Encircle’s integrated service model (Plan up to 2 hours a month)

• Create and maintain a Psychology Today profile. Plan on up to 2 hours per month of marketing to meet session expectations.

Professional Development

• Maintain active associate-level licensure (CSW, ACMHC, AMFT, etc.) in Utah

• Complete required supervision and continuing education

• Engage in ongoing training related to LGBTQIA+ affirming care and evolving best practices

Qualifications

Required

• Active associate-level licensure in Utah (CSW, ACMHC, AMFT, or equivalent)

• Experience working with youth, families, or LGBTQIA+ clients

• Strong diagnostic assessment and treatment planning skills

• Ability to maintain timely and compliant clinical documentation

• Evening availability (minimum of 10 evening sessions per week)

Preferred

• Experience working within conservative cultural or faith-based communities

• Familiarity with WPATH Standards of Care (SOC8)

• Experience with EHR systems and digital collaboration tools

• Group therapy experience

Schedule & Expectations

• Full-time position

• Approximately 28–30 scheduled sessions weekly

• In-person and telehealth availability

• 10 Evening hours required to meet community needs

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive compensation

• Encircle offers a pay-per-session model, allowing therapists to build a flexible caseload:

• $50 to $60 per clinical hour (DOE)

• Potential pay range for 25 sessions a week on a 48 week work year is $60,000 to $72,000 not including benefits.
