About this role

Summary

The Valet Agent is responsible for the safe, timely and professional movement, delivery and collection of rental vehicles while ensuring that vehicles are properly inspected and presented to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and collect rental vehicles from customers at designated locations.

• Assist customers with vehicle handover and return procedures.

• Conduct vehicle condition inspections before and after rentals.

• Record existing and new vehicle damage accurately.

• Verify fuel level, mileage and general vehicle condition.

• Ensure vehicles are clean and properly prepared for customer handover.

• Move vehicles between rental locations, parking facilities, service centres and other approved locations.

• Ensure vehicles are parked securely and appropriately.

• Assist with airport, hotel and other customer transfers where required.

• Obtain required customer signatures and documentation during vehicle handover and return.

• Report accidents, damage, mechanical problems and other vehicle issues immediately.

• Coordinate with the Fleet Agent regarding vehicle availability and readiness.

• Maintain accurate records of vehicle movements.

• Ensure keys are properly controlled and secured.

• Follow company procedures for vehicle safety and security.

• Provide professional and courteous service to customers.

• Assist with cleaning and basic vehicle preparation when required.

• Ensure company vehicles are operated responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 CXC/GCE subjects, preferably including English Language.

• A certificate in Customer Service, Hospitality, Tourism, Automotive Services or a related field would be an asset.

• Valid Barbados driver's licence.

• Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.

• Clean and safe driving record.

• Basic computer literacy would be an asset.

• First Aid/CPR certification would be an advantage.

• Basic knowledge of vehicle safety and operating procedures.

Experience

• 1–2 years' driving experience.

• Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, car rental, transportation, parking or a similar environment preferred.

• Experience handling or moving different types of passenger vehicles.

• Experience conducting basic vehicle checks would be an asset.
