We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified candidate to join the team at F.T. Farfan (Jamaica) Limited for the position outlined below.
JOB PURPOSE This position is responsible for providing clerical support and assisting with all logistics and inventory activities and transactions within the Department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Processes and files all manual inventory transactions on the company’s database (e.g. Delivery Notes, Inter Warehouse Transfers, and Stock Adjustments). • Ensures all Foreign Purchases are costed correctly before receiving item/s onto the inventory database. • Receives all Local Stock Purchases onto the inventory database. • Updates both receiving logs (K.P.I Receipt Log & C.P. Inventory Clearing Accounts Reconciliation Log) after receiving items purchased. • When an inventory variance is identified, investigates, seeks approval and makes the necessary correction to the inventory on the database. • Assists in spot checks (physical counts) of inventory items. • Assists in the preparation for stock taking exercise and the update of physical count information on computer database. • Audits all transaction books (e.g. Delivery Note, Inter Warehouse Transfer and Goods Return) for documents not passed to the Inventory Department, and requests the document from the relevant Department. • Assists in the pricing and re-pricing of inventory on the company’s database. • Checks and verifies proforma against purchase orders. • Checks and verifies invoices against orders and communicates price difference to the Manager for enquiry. • Follows up on outstanding orders and back ordered items. • Updates order log book with relative information on shipment of cargo. • Follows up on all order confirmations. • Copies purchase orders and attaches to receiving covers. • Updates covers with Purchase Order number, Invoice date and Supplier’s name. • Ensures the maintenance and adherence to ISO Standards. • Demonstrates active adherence to all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures, while also promoting HSE awareness. • Performs other duties that may be required to enhance the operations of the Company.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE • A minimum of five (5) C.X.C. O’ Level passes inclusive of English and Mathematics. • A minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in a similar work environment. • Certification in Materials Management (e.g. C.I.P.S.) or its equivalent will be an asset. • Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of products • Knowledge of inventory control and warehousing operations would be considered an asset.

Please note: This is a full-time, on-site position based in Jamaica. Successful candidates must be legally authorized to work in Jamaica. Any relocation costs associated with accepting this position will be the sole responsibility of the successful candidate.
