π About the Role
Boundless Education is transforming current systems of education. Our educational concept empowers all children to explore their natural creativity, discover their true passions, and shape their own future. We apply the renowned Finnish Curriculum, integrated with best pedagogical practices from around the world, to create a personalised, multi-age, skills-driven and strength-based system that is supportively led by educators as mentors.
We are looking for a passionate Explorers Lead Educator to join our team for the upcoming launch of Boundless Life in Barcelona.
Working with children in our Explorers age group (1β5 years old), the Explorers Lead is responsible for driving the classroom experience and guiding each child through their individual learning journey. You will create a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where young children can explore their natural curiosity, build independence and develop socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively.
Learning at Boundless is not confined to the classroom. You'll create meaningful, experiential learning opportunities that make use of the local environment and community while integrating Montessori principles and the Boundless Education Questing framework into everyday learning.
π©βπ« What You'll Do
β’ Ensure the duty of care for all children and create a safe, nurturing learning environment
β’ Lead the day-to-day classroom experience for the Explorers age group
β’ Cultivate a strong sense of community, belonging and independence
β’ Foster children's holistic well-being, encompassing their physical, social and emotional development
β’ Implement the Boundless Education Questing framework to create authentic learning experiences
β’ Guide children along personalised learning pathways, responding to their individual interests, strengths and developmental needs
β’ Apply Montessori principles and practices within the Early Years environment
β’ Plan interdisciplinary and experiential learning opportunities incorporating the local environment and community
β’ Establish developmentally appropriate goals with children and monitor their progress through observation, documentation and feedback
β’ Provide routine updates to parents and carers using our technological tools
β’ Lead parent conferences and contribute to end-of-cohort Growth Trackers
β’ Maximise educational technology tools where developmentally appropriate
β’ Build strong and trusted relationships with parents and carers
β’ Collaborate closely with fellow educators and the wider Education team to maintain high standards of learning and care
β’ Engage in continuous professional learning and contribute to the ongoing development of Boundless Education
β About You
General Requirements
β’ Excellent English language skills; Spanish is a strong advantage for this location
β’ Living in Barcelona or nearby, or willing to relocate, and able to commute daily
β’ Minimum two years of teaching experience in Early Years
β’ Experience working with children within the 1β5 age range
β’ Experience with culturally and linguistically diverse learners
β’ Able to thrive in fast-paced, evolving and multicultural environments
β’ A clear, warm and effective communicator with both children and adults
β’ Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate learning practices
β’ Ability to create a safe, inclusive and child-centred learning environment
β’ Special educational needs or inclusive education experience is a strong advantage
Educational Qualifications
β’ A recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education, Early Years Education, Child Development, or a closely related field
β’ Montessori training, with the ability to confidently apply Montessori principles within an Early Years learning environment
β’ Strong knowledge of early childhood development, safeguarding and children's social and emotional needs
Preferred
β’ Formal Montessori certification, such as AMI, AMS or an equivalent recognised Montessori qualification
β’ A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development, Special Educational Needs, or a related discipline
β’ Experience with inquiry-based, experiential, play-based or other child-centred educational approaches
β’ Familiarity with, or formal study of, the Finnish curriculum
β’ Certification or postgraduate study in special educational needs, inclusive education or learning support
β’ Experience supporting multilingual learners
β’ Current safeguarding or child protection certification
β’ Current first aid or paediatric first aid certification
β’ Evidence of ongoing professional learning relevant to Early Years education
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced criminal records check or equivalent.
