A 3-year position in the Institute for Neuroscience and Cardiovascular Research. The successful applicant will use a combination of in vivo bespoke experimental medicine techniques to explore mechanisms mediating the benefits of cold-induced thermogenesis. The applicant will also investigate the therapeutic potential of activating these pathways as a treatment for obesity and associated metabolic diseases.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Have obtained or be near to completing a PhD in metabolism Experience of running in vivo human experimental medicine studies including expertise with PET/CT Experience of single nucleus RNA sequencing and bioinformatic analyses Knowledge of human adipose and skeletal muscle biology. This post is full-time (35 hours per week). We are open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
