ABOUT THE VACANCY

We are recruiting staff to contribute across our Engineering and Engineering with Artificial Intelligence programmes.

Academics should guide students through real-world challenges, support multidisciplinary teamwork and use industry-standard tools and workflows within our practical, project-based pedagogy. They should embed sustainability, ethics, inclusivity and responsible innovation into teaching, reflecting the programme’s focus on professional identity and societal impact.

The role requires the following programme-specific expertise:

BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering: Candidates should have strong expertise in core electrical and electronic engineering, including circuits, semiconductors, communications, control, power systems and electromagnetics, and be able to bring these topics to life through practical, real-world challenges.

ABOUT YOU

Domain: Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer / Reader)

Qualifications / Professional Membership

Doctorate in relevant subject. Chartered/Professional status where relevant. Senior Fellowship of HEA (Descriptor 3).

Teaching & Learning

Lead development and delivery of entire programmes. Mentor junior colleagues in teaching / module leadership. Innovate new teaching methods and disseminate. Supervise doctoral students. Lead organisation of field trips, placements, practice activities. Quality assurance leadership for teaching.

Research, Scholarship &/or Practice

Sustained research output of international quality. Significant grant capture. Lead research groups / projects. Supervise PhDs / postdocs. Disseminate widely (journals, books, exhibitions).

Knowledge Exchange & External Engagement

Lead external networks and partnerships. Engage in consultancy and collaborations. External examining roles.

Academic Citizenship & Leadership

Lead significant departmental/faculty roles (e.g., Programme Director, REF/TEF lead). Mentor colleagues. Chair committees. Contribute to faculty-level decision making.
