The opportunity • Conduct research with a more senior group member and gradually gain independence. • Start with a project that is well-defined, then grow it over time; for example, characterize melanopsin expression and then investigate how melanopsin-based photoreception influences the animal. • Help with basic lab needs, such as animal care.
