Global Trade Finance - Process Excellence Lead
Job Description: Global Trade Finance- Process Excellence Lead Location: This role could be based in an EMEA location.
Reporting to the VP Finance, Global Trade, the Global Trade – Finance Process Excellence will act as a key process owner within the Global Trade Finance organization, responsible for driving standardization, efficiency, governance, and continuous improvement across finance processes in Global Trade. Approximatively 50% of the time will be spent on Ultra and Netsuite as Product Owner (PO). This role will partner closely with the Finance Directors, finance teams ( Controlling, GBS), IT, and other stakeholders to ensure GT Finance processes are scalable, compliant, well-controlled, and aligned with global business priorities. The role will lead process optimization initiatives, identify automation opportunities, support finance transformation projects, and establish best practices to improve accuracy, visibility, control, and efficiency across Global Trade Finance. The main duties of this role will include:
Process Ownership & Governance • Act as the process owner for selected processes, ensuring clear process design, ownership, documentation, and governance. • Define and maintain global process standards, policies, controls, and operating procedures. • Ensure consistent process execution across regions and business units. • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and control weaknesses in existing processes and lead remediation plans. • Support the implementation of a process governance framework, including KPIs, escalation paths, and regular performance reviews. Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across Global Trade Finance processes. • Drive simplification, standardization, and automation of finance workflows. • Apply process excellence methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or similar frameworks where relevant. • Partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities to reduce manual work, improve cycle times, and enhance data accuracy. • Build and maintain a pipeline of improvement initiatives, including business cases, priorities, timelines, and expected benefits. Finance Transformation & Systems Enablement • Support finance transformation initiatives related to trade finance platforms, ERP systems, reporting tools, and automation solutions. Product ownership for Ultra and NetSuite products. • Act as a business process expert in system implementations, enhancements, and upgrades. • Translate business requirements into process and system requirements in collaboration with IT and transformation teams. • Support user acceptance testing, change impact assessments, training, and post-implementation stabilization. • Promote effective adoption of new tools, systems, and digital capabilities. Controls, Compliance & Risk Management • Ensure GT Finance processes are compliant with internal policies, external regulatory requirements, and audit expectations. • Partner with internal controls, risk, compliance, and audit teams to maintain a strong control environment. • Support the design and monitoring of key controls across trade finance processes. • Identify process-related risks and recommend mitigation actions. • Ensure process documentation and control evidence are complete, accurate, and audit-ready. Performance Management & Reporting • Define, monitor, and report key process performance indicators across Global Trade Finance. • Provide insight into process performance, bottlenecks, risks, and improvement opportunities. • Develop dashboards and reporting mechanisms to support visibility and decision-making. • Track benefits realization from process improvement and transformation initiatives. • Prepare regular updates for the GT Finance Director and senior finance stakeholders.
: Stakeholder Management & Change Leadership • Partner with regional and global stakeholders to align process improvement initiatives with business needs. • Influence cross-functional teams to adopt global standards and improved ways of working. • Lead change management activities related to process improvements and transformation projects. • Develop training materials, communication plans, and user guidance to support successful implementation. • Act as a trusted advisor to the Global Trade Finance Director on process excellence matters. Requirements: To be successful in this role the ideal candidate must have • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field. • Prior experience in BU Finance Global Trade or Controlling • Experience in finance process management, finance transformation, controlling, accounting, or finance operations. • Strong understanding of finance processes, internal controls, governance, and process improvement methodologies. • Experience with Ultra, NetSuite, VAX, ERP interfaces, reporting tools, workflow solutions, and other Global Trade Finance platforms. • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders without direct authority. • Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work in a high-pressure team environment, handle multiple tasks and react quickly to problems and issues.
