Position Details- Inventory Control Lead

Under the direction of the Manager or Supervisor, oversees daily inventory operations and provides guidance and support to inventory associates. Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring product quality, minimizing spoilage, and supporting overall warehouse operations.

• Pay $21- $24.00 per/ hr • Hours Monday- Friday 6:30am- 3:00pm Position Summary

The Inventory Control Lead is responsible for overseeing daily inventory operations and providing leadership, guidance, and support to inventory associates within assigned warehouse areas. This role ensures inventory accuracy through routine audits, physical counts, reconciliation activities, and investigation of inventory discrepancies. The Inventory Control Lead maintains product quality by conducting inspections, managing returned and damaged goods, reducing spoilage, and identifying unsellable inventory.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and provide direction to inventory team members within assigned areas.

• Compile and maintain records related to the quantity, type, and value of inventory, equipment, merchandise, materials, and supplies.

• Conduct physical inventory counts and reconcile inventory records to ensure accuracy.

• Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and make necessary adjustments to inventory records.

• Verify returned goods and damaged products and process items back into inventory as appropriate.

• Perform quality inspections on produce and other designated products, removing poor-quality or spoiled items from inventory.

• Sort pallets and identify damaged, expired, or unsellable products.

• Repack produce and other products efficiently to reduce spoilage and inventory loss.

• Handle inventory control issues and resolve questions using extensive knowledge of inventory processes and company procedures.

• Assist with onboarding and training inventory associates as needed.

• Provide backup support to management and contribute to operational decision-making.

• Communicate professionally and effectively with customers, vendors, drivers, and coworkers to ensure timely resolution of questions and issues.

• Promote safe work practices and comply with all company policies and procedures.

• Function as a collaborative team member within the department and organization.

• Perform all assigned duties efficiently to support productivity, reduce waste, and positively impact company profitability.

• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications: • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience. • 1-3 years of experience in inventory control, inventory accounting, administrative support, warehouse operations, or a related field. • Basic knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, including data entry, sorting, filtering, and maintaining records and reports.

Preferred Qualifications: Accounting related courses:

3 – 5 years of experience
