About this role
Job Requirements We are seeking three experienced Electrical Engineers at our Santa Clara, CA facility. In this role, you will support custom engineered-to-order (ETO) bioprocess and automated industrial equipment projects from early design phases through manufacturing, system integration, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT). You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver manufacturing-ready design packages and provide hands-on engineering support on the shop floor. Primary Job Function: · Design & Documentation: Develop and modify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, power distribution systems, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) based on customer specifications and project requirements. · Component Selection: Specify industrial electrical components, instrumentation, safety devices, and control hardware compliant with internal standards and regulatory requirements. · Manufacturing Support: Provide real-time engineering support to Manufacturing during equipment assembly and wiring; troubleshoot electrical design, power, and control issues on the floor. · Design Reviews & ECOs: Lead and participate in technical design reviews, resolve action items, and process controlled engineering changes and drawing revisions within a PLM environment. · Integration & FAT: Support system integration, commissioning, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) execution alongside Controls and Quality teams. · As-Built Releases: Complete and release final "as-built" electrical documentation packages post-testing.
Work Experience · Demonstrated ability to create clear electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and BOMs using industrial standard CAD platforms (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN). · Strong working knowledge of industrial control panels, 3-phase power distribution, low-voltage control circuits, and field instrumentation. · Hands-on experience troubleshooting industrial electrical systems during equipment assembly and testing. · Experience working within formal PLM/PDM environments and controlled Engineering Change Order (ECO) workflows. · Soft Skills: Excellent cross-functional communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with Mechanical, Controls, Manufacturing, Quality, and Project Management teams. Qualifications/Experience/Education Requirements Basic Qualifications:
Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent professional experience. Experience: 3-7 years of experience in electrical design for industrial automation, custom machinery, process equipment, or engineered-to-order (ETO) systems.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with biopharmaceutical process equipment, single-use systems (SUS), or process skid design. Familiarity with regulated manufacturing environments and industrial panel standards (e.g., UL 508A, NFPA 79, CE/IEC).
