Job Requirements A Day in the Life of a Ultrasound Tech II
The Ultrasound Technologist II performs a full range of diagnostic, surgical, and interventional ultrasound procedures with a high degree of independence and technical proficiency, ensuring all studies meet the established standards of the radiologist, radiation oncologist, and other referring physicians. Serves as a resource and mentor to less experienced staff and students as needed.

• Employer Sponsored Medical, Dental, and Vision Plans • 403(b) and 457(b) retirement options with 4% employer match • Life Insurance • Short Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance • Employer Sponsored Wellness Program • Employee Assistance Program • ANCC Magnet Hospital • 21 PTO days per year (increases with tenure) • Tuition Reimbursement Program • Dedicated Loan Forgiveness Advisory Service Here is What You Will Be Doing: • Independently performs ultrasound procedures in accordance with physician orders and department protocols. • Operates diagnostic ultrasound equipment to evaluate a variety of anatomical structures and medical conditions • Performs ultrasound examinations and procedures while demonstrating advanced clinical competency across multiple service lines, including abdominal, vascular, obstetric and gynecologic, neonatal, intraoperative, superficial structures and image guiding. • Assists physicians with designated procedures including thoracentesis, needle biopsies, amniocentesis, renal biopsies and similar procedures. • Provides patient and family education and support, promoting a positive patient experienee. • Performs quality control procedures, equipment testing, and required documentation in accordance with departmental, regulatory, and accreditation standards. • Assists with maintaining departmental quality, safety, and accreditation requirements. • Serves as a clinical resource for peers and assists with problem solving related to patient care and workflow. • Assists with onboarding, training, and competency development of new employees and students under the direction of the Ultrasound Tech III or Lead Ultrasound Technologist. • Maintains a positive work environment through professional interactions with patients, physicians, coworkers, and other customers. • Participates in department call rotation as required. Desired Skills: • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with patients, families, visitors, Physicians and co-workers • Knowledge of ultrasound procedures and equipment use • Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards • Attention to minute detail • Ability to calculate and interpret numbers and analyze and synthesize data • Ability to perform on-call duties Here is What You Need: • Education or Certification (must meet one of the following): • Graduate of an accredited program in Ultrasound Technology • Current American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification • Continued on next page • One (1) or more years of ultrasound experience • 14 Days: Cheyenne Regional AHA RQI within fourteen (14) calendar days of start date • 12 Months (must have all of the following within twelve (12) months of start date): • Current ARDMS Abdomen (AB) certification • Current ARDMS Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB) certification • Current ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification Nice to Have: • None About Cheyenne Regional: Cheyenne Regional Medical Center was founded in 1867 as a tent hospital by the Union Pacific Railroad to treat workers injured while building the transcontinental railroad.
