Summary The Value Analysis Coordinator identifies opportunities for cost savings related to product standardization and improved product utilization by appropriately assisting in the selection, evaluation, monitoring analysis and implementation of cost effective products and services for the PHT. This position acts in a confidential capacity to assist or aid department management. The position will have a significant role in processing confidential information. Responsibilities
• Promotes organizational product and vendor standardization through communication, coordination of in-services and educational programs. • Participates and assists with the development of Best Practice models. • Coordinates clinical trials on all new products with CRM and PRAC. • Serves as liaison with vendors and patient care units for implementation of products. • Coordinates hospital center product demonstrations and in-services and facilitates product conversions with end-users. • Develops standardized protocols for vendors and organization-wide utilization of contracts. • Serves as liaison with physicians, clinicians, vendors, and Materials Management staff to resolve issues related to product standardization. • Maintains Master Item file for area of specialization in collaboration with Materials Management. • Develops collaborative relationships with medical staff and establishes processes to optimize clinical needs assessment and maximize cost management opportunities. • Participates in continuing performance improvement to ensure continuous improvement of services provided (i.e. patient care units and departments). • Performs all other related job duties as assigned.
Experience
• Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.
Education
• Bachelor's degree in related field is preferred.
Skill
• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. • Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure. • Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment. • Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.
Credentials
• Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
