Job Title: Sales RepresentativeJob DescriptionThis Sales Representative role offers a structured path into outside sales, where you will learn the company’s products, services, customers, and sales processes through a comprehensive training program. You will build and maintain strong relationships with electrical contractors and other customers while supporting account management, customer service, and project coordination activities. Over time, you will develop technical knowledge of electrical products and industry applications, gain experience in territory management and business development, and work toward independently managing a book of business, including customer relationships, sales growth, and territory profitability. Responsibilities • Complete a structured training program to learn the company’s products, services, customers, and sales processes. • Build and maintain long-term relationships with electrical contractors and other customers. • Support account management activities for existing customers, ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction. • Provide customer service support by responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring timely follow-up. • Assist with project support activities related to electrical supply projects, including coordination with internal and external stakeholders. • Prepare and assist with quotations for electrical products and solutions, ensuring accuracy and responsiveness. • Coordinate project timelines, product availability, and delivery details to support successful project execution. • Develop technical knowledge of electrical products, applications, and industry standards to better support customer needs. • Partner with internal sales teams to identify customer needs and provide appropriate product and service solutions. • Collaborate with colleagues to share customer insights, improve sales approaches, and enhance overall customer experience. • Learn the fundamentals of territory management, including account planning, prospecting, and pipeline development. • Develop business development skills in preparation for managing a future territory and book of business. • Participate in customer visits and account development activities to strengthen relationships and identify growth opportunities. • Engage in ongoing sales training opportunities to continuously improve sales, product, and industry knowledge. • Work toward independently managing customer relationships, including regular communication and strategic account planning. • Drive sales growth within an assigned territory by identifying new opportunities and expanding existing business. • Contribute to territory profitability by balancing sales growth with appropriate pricing and margin considerations. • Act as a trusted advisor to customers by understanding their needs and recommending tailored solutions. • Demonstrate initiative and a goal-oriented approach to achieving performance targets and career development milestones. Essential Skills • Bachelor’s degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • At least 1 year of customer service or customer-facing experience in sales, retail, hospitality, customer service, skilled trades, or related environments. • Strong learning agility with the ability to quickly absorb and apply technical information. • Demonstrated customer-facing skills, including the ability to interact professionally with a variety of customers. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to clearly convey information to customers and colleagues. • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to develop trust and long-term partnerships. • Active listening skills to accurately understand customer needs and respond with appropriate solutions. • Self-starter mindset with demonstrated initiative and the ability to work proactively with minimal supervision. • Goal-oriented and sales-minded approach, with a focus on achieving targets and driving results. • Analytical skills to understand customer requirements, interpret data, and support appropriate product and pricing decisions. • Desire to build a long-term career in sales and business development. • Motivation driven by performance, personal growth, and earning potential. • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal sales teams and other departments. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience in outside sales or business development is beneficial but not required. • Experience working with electrical products, construction, or industrial environments is a plus. • Comfort working in a structured training environment with clearly defined milestones and expectations. • Interest in developing technical knowledge of electrical products and industry applications. • Ability to adapt to a growing branch environment focused on rebuilding and developing the next generation of sales talent. • Strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple accounts, projects, and deadlines. • Comfort with performance-based compensation structures, including commission and profit-sharing opportunities. • Willingness to participate in ongoing sales training and professional development programs. Work EnvironmentThis role follows a standard full-time schedule, typically working from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The position operates in a professional sales environment where you will regularly interact with internal teams and customers, both in person and over the phone or digital channels. The organization offers a structured training program with a clear career path into outside sales and the opportunity to eventually inherit existing accounts and manage a defined territory. The compensation structure includes uncapped earning potential through commission and profit sharing, with a vehicle allowance available once promoted into direct sales. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Tacoma, WA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $55000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Benefits:
