Accountant Job Description We are seeking an Accountant to support the organization's day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting processes. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, preparing reconciliations, and ensuring the integrity of financial data. The Accountant will partner with leadership and operations teams to provide reporting, analysis, and accounting support that drives informed business decisions.In addition to core accounting responsibilities, this position will provide limited support for payroll processing and employee-related administrative functions.Key Responsibilities
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules. • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes. • Maintain general ledger accuracy and investigate discrepancies. • Prepare and analyze financial reports, statements, and operational metrics. • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities. • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives. • Assist with internal and external audits by gathering documentation and preparing schedules. • Monitor compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. • Track and analyze labor, operational, and project-related costs. • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency within accounting functions. • Provide backup support for payroll processing and payroll-related reconciliations as needed. • Assist with special projects and reporting requests from leadership. Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. • 2+ years of accounting experience. • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting. • Experience supporting month-end and year-end close processes. • Knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel. • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. • High level of integrity and professionalism when handling confidential information. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in manufacturing, construction, distribution, or related industries. • Experience supporting audits and maintaining internal control compliance. • Familiarity with payroll processing and payroll accounting. • Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as Sage, QuickBooks, or similar platforms. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Fargo, ND. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
