Job Title: HR SpecialistPay: $25 - 30/hrOnsite (Monday - Friday)Job DescriptionThe HR Specialist partners with Operations Managers and HR Business Partners to support contracts and operations for all HR activities. This role is responsible for HR transactions, data management, and ensuring compliance. The Specialist advises employees and supervisors on core HR process questions, such as employee actions, recruitment, education and development, and compensation and benefits.Responsibilities
• Enter and manage data in systems with a high degree of accuracy. • Audit data entry and system information for consistency, accuracy, issues, and compliance. • Advise employees and supervisors/managers on core HR process questions. • Educate employees on human resources policies, procedures, and performance development plans. • Assist in recruitment and staffing, including updating job descriptions, screening applicants, and organizing applicant pools. • Prepare offer letters, coordinate checks, and conduct new hire orientations. • Collaborate with managers on employee updates/changes and facilitate communications. • Review onboarding, off-boarding, and employee changes for legal compliance and best practices. • Oversee and coordinate all tasks related to the full employee lifecycle. • Assist in building workflows, templates, and verbiage documents. • Maintain accurate personnel files for compliance with regulations and best practices. • Guide new employees through the training process and assist in compensation calculations. • Create reports and metrics related to departmental goals. • Monitor regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with key HR-related updates. • Work with key leaders on various HR projects and objectives. • Partner with other departments to improve processes and service. • Familiarize with federal and state employment laws, including federal contracting and OFCCP. Essential Skills
• Human resources experience in roles such as HR Assistant, HR Coordinator, or HR Technician. • Strong basic computer skills, including managing PDFs and data entry. • Experience in a for-profit business environment. • Ability to work onsite in Anchorage for training and project needs. • Comfortable completing high-volume, process-driven work accurately. • Willingness to complete a check. • Professional office or administrative experience. • Experience in government contracting, HR operations, and system-change projects. Work EnvironmentThis is a full-time position with hours from 8am to 5pm, located in Anchorage, Alaska. Initial training and current priority projects will require regular office presence. Hybrid work is available after successful training, though candidates must remain flexible for onsite support as needed for filing, personnel-file work, system projects, and future deadlines. Upon conversion, benefits include FEHB medical coverage, dental and vision benefits, basic life and AD&D insurance, short-term disability, a 401(k) match, paid federal holidays, and a graduating PTO program. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
