We invite you to become part of Connecticut’s most comprehensive healthcare network The Performance Improvement Specialist supports the Quality and Safety Management Department of the Heart and Vascular Institute in conducting ongoing performance improvement activities for across the Heart & Vascular Institute systemwide. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: · Leading performance/process improvement for targeted initiatives, oversight of collection/abstraction and aggregation of data and the analysis of data /metrics to assess performance. · Collaborate with key stakeholders/ departments in developing best practice standards to ensure reliable safe design of care processes and workflows. · Subject matter expert in regulatory (CMS, JC, DPH), payer performance programs (QHIP), improvement science and high reliability concepts. · Functions as a consultant to ensure compliance with all required agencies. · Works closely with clinical teams and Medical staff to develop practices, peer review, quality, and safety efforts that are aligned with HHC’s core values.

Qualifications

Education · Bachelor's Degree, BSN in Nursing strongly preferred · Masters in a related field if non-RN (MHA, MPH) required Experience · Minimum 5 years clinical experience in Cardiology required · Experience with Quality Improvement tools and techniques, regulatory experience Licensure, Certification, Registration · CPHQ, CPPS or other quality certification preferred Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements · Proficiency with facilitating project teams as well as organizational department efforts to improve systems and process within the organization. · Experience in independent project management, efficiency, and an understanding of the principles surrounding performance improvement, quality of care, outcomes measurement and analysis and health care cost measurement and containment. · Able to interact fluidly with staff at all levels within the organization, from front-line to senior leadership, to improve systems and process within the organization · Able to manage a project(s) independently, efficiently, and should have an understanding of the principles surrounding performance improvement, quality of care, outcomes measurement and analysis and health care cost measurement and containment We take great care of careers.
