Partner with the best As a Senior Subsea Systems Engineer - Concept and FEED, you will operate within a multi‑disciplinary engineering team, supporting and leading Front End Engineering and Development (FEED) studies. You will partner with product experts to provide systems‑level guidance across subsea projects and technology development programs while supporting customers in optimizing field developments and delivering successful project outcomes. You will play a key role in concept selection, systems optimization, interface management, and early‑phase project development, ensuring studies are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with customer and business objectives.
As a Senior Subsea Systems Engineer - Concept and FEED, you will be responsible for:
• Leading and supporting Front End Engineering & Development (FEED) studies for subsea projects. • Providing project engineering support and system definition from feasibility and concept phases through FEED. • Developing and optimizing subsea field concepts while considering the full project lifecycle, including: Design, Manufacturing, Installation, Hook‑up and commissioning, Operations & Decommissioning • Performing systems engineering assessments, trade studies, and field development evaluations. Managing interfaces between Baker Hughes global product teams, SURF delivery partners, and customers. • Providing customer input and feedback to support R&D initiatives, field optimization activities, and hardware design reviews. Supporting tendering, detailed engineering, and project execution teams through effective handovers and technical guidance. • Leading or supporting process improvement initiatives and data‑driven decision‑making activities. Reporting engineering progress, technical matters, interface issues, and study performance through project meetings and progress reports. • Managing study execution through technical interface management, change control, technical variations, and delivery oversight. Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with Baker Hughes Quality Management Systems. • Engaging directly with customers to understand project requirements, manage expectations, and ensure timely study execution. Providing technical expertise across studies, projects, and technology initiatives assigned by management. • Supporting the OFSE commercial organization in identifying and pursuing early‑engagement opportunities. Assisting with study proposal preparation and participating as a technical reviewer when required.
Additional Responsibilities
• Supporting tendering and project execution activities as required. • Utilizing and developing engineering systems and software tools to support safe and effective project delivery. • Representing Baker Hughes at external conferences, customer events, and industry forums. • Supporting internal training and capability development initiatives related to systems engineering. • Identifying and promoting innovative technologies that strengthen Baker Hughes’ market position and customer value proposition.
Fuel your passion To be successful in this role, you will:
• Hold a Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with significant relevant industry experience. • Bring experience from areas such as: • Oil & Gas Operators • Subsea Equipment Manufacturers • SURF Contractors • Offshore Renewables
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of: • Systems Engineering • Project Engineering • Engineering Management • Decision Analysis Frameworks
• Have familiarity with methodologies and certifications such as: • INCOSE • AACE • APM • PRINCE2 (desirable but not essential)
• Demonstrate proven experience delivering project engineering activities within multi‑disciplinary environments. • Have experience in one or more of the following disciplines: • Field Architecture • Flow Assurance • Process Engineering • Subsea Production Systems • Risers, Flowlines and Pipelines • Control Systems • Constructability and Installation
• Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrate strong report writing and presentation capabilities. • Be fluent in English, with Norwegian language skills considered advantageous. • Have strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Be confident operating within fast‑paced project environments. • Demonstrate energy, passion, and commitment to driving change and innovation. Be willing to travel internationally for customer meetings, project requirements, and short‑term assignments.
