Job Title: Research TechnicianJob DescriptionJoin our preclinical development team to support laboratory and animal-based testing activities. You will play a crucial role in executing SOP-driven testing protocols, collecting and documenting study data, maintaining research records, and coordinating inventory and logistics activities. Your work will contribute to ongoing preclinical projects, requiring hands-on work with awake pigs, collaboration with engineers and researchers, and troubleshooting laboratory procedures and equipment. Approximately half of your time will involve direct protocol execution and testing. Responsibilities • Perform bench and wet lab work following SOP-driven testing protocols. • Collect and document study data accurately and maintain research records. • Coordinate inventory and logistics activities related to preclinical projects. • Work directly with awake pigs during research studies. • Troubleshoot laboratory procedures and equipment as needed. • Collaborate with engineers, researchers, and external vendors to ensure successful project execution. Essential Skills • Hands-on laboratory experience in biotech, medical device, academia, university research labs, animal research facilities, CROs, or diagnostics. • Proficiency in wet lab techniques and SOP execution. • Experience in animal handling and research, particularly with large animals like pigs. • Strong attention to detail and quality in data collection and documentation. • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Animal Science, Life Sciences, Zoology, Physiology, or related field. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Veterinary Technician background strongly preferred. • Strong communication and organizational skills. • Ability to work independently with a detail-oriented mindset. • Comfortable in a highly documented environment. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. • Comfortable with occasional local travel. • Strong work ethic and reliability. Work EnvironmentThe position is fully onsite from Monday to Friday, with an 8-hour workday. You will work in an open cubicle environment within a preclinical research setting, interacting frequently with engineers, technicians, and researchers. The role involves frequent laboratory work, direct interaction with awake pigs during animal studies, and occasional local travel to nearby testing facilities. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
