Description
Responsibilities include: · High temperature chassis dynamometer test and prep. Assist with installation of thermocouples on a wide variety of automobile components, installing harnesses, data acquisition and vehicle mockup using prototype parts (this will be 90% of time). Assist in part changes during chassis dynamometer testing. · Hot weather field testing. Prepare vehicles for offsite testing in extreme temperature locations. This will include installation of new parts, thermocouple installation, data acquisition installation and pre-test equipment checks. Assist engineer with test by driving or operating data acquisition on public roads. Make part changes for testing as needed. · Water fording test and setup. Prepare for test by using setup sheet and installing any instrumentation as necessary. May be asked to perform the testing after proper training. · Snow ingress prep and test. This will include preparing vehicles with part changes and performing tests. · Electronics. Capability of designing, constructing, and repairing wire harnesses for testing. Maintaining test equipment. · Assist with other testing and vehicle preps as needed. Requirements: · Ability to work overtime. · A strong understanding of automobiles. · Experience with data acquisition hardware and software. · Willing to travel. · Capable of working in extreme climates, hot or cold. · Strong vehicle/instrumentation skills · Welding/fabrication skills. · Self-motivated. · Detail orientated. · Strong work ethic. · Must be able to obtain passport if needed Desired: · Proficient with Microsoft excel, power point, and word. Two-year degree in electronics or automotive background.
