Job Title: HSE ManagerJob DescriptionThe HSE Manager provides leadership and guidance to construction projects in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental (EHS) processes. This role drives a strong safety culture, ensures regulatory and corporate compliance, and partners closely with project leadership and field teams to proactively manage risk, prevent incidents, and support the successful delivery of major construction projects. Responsibilities • Partner with the Project Manager and project management team to develop, implement, and maintain an effective site-specific EHS plan that aligns with corporate, divisional, and regional EHS programs and processes. • Assist Project Managers and EHS Managers/Specialists in coordinating subcontractor EHS protocols, including those for vendors and owner personnel working on project sites. • Coordinate project EHS programs with subcontractors, supporting the planning and execution of work to eliminate hazards, minimize risks, and proactively manage losses involving injuries or property damage. • Coordinate and lead quarterly comprehensive on-site EHS audits, ensuring systematic review of safety practices and corrective actions where needed. • Conduct periodic inspections and evaluations of project sites, equipment, and work processes to verify compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company and owner policies and procedures. • Conduct accident and incident investigations, identify root causes, and complete incident reports for Project Management review, including recommendations for corrective and preventive actions. • Accompany injured employees to treatment and medical evaluations as needed, ensuring all EHS protocols and reporting requirements are followed. • Advise Project Management on Industrial Hygiene protocols and perform Environmental Monitoring to identify and control potential exposures and hazards. • Manage the company’s Drug-Free Workplace Policy on assigned projects, ensuring proper testing is conducted for pre-employment, vehicle authorization, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, and follow-up situations. • Provide training and education to company personnel on EHS requirements, including coordinating and delivering new hire EHS orientation programs. • Administer the corporate SPAT process on assigned projects in alignment with company standards and expectations. • Prepare and deliver weekly EHS updates to EHS leadership and project stakeholders, summarizing key metrics, issues, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. • Promote a strong safety culture by engaging with field personnel, reinforcing safe work practices, and recognizing positive EHS behaviors. • Support construction safety efforts by collaborating with site supervisors and craft workers to identify hazards and implement practical safety solutions. Essential Skills • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or an equivalent field. • CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) certification. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction EHS field. • Strong knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal EHS regulations and standards. • Proven ability to recognize hazards, assess risks, and implement effective control measures. • Experience conducting EHS audits, inspections, and incident investigations in a construction environment. • Demonstrated skills in injury management and incident response. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and coach personnel at all levels. • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on practical, field-ready solutions. • Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage time effectively across multiple projects and tasks. • Competence in developing and delivering EHS training and orientations. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working with large or complex construction projects is beneficial. • Familiarity with corporate EHS programs and processes, including project-specific EHS planning and reporting. • Experience administering drug-free workplace programs and related testing protocols. • Comfort working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with project management, field supervision, subcontractors, and owner representatives. • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and drive engagement in safety initiatives. • Motivation to grow professionally through industry-leading training and long-term career development opportunities. Work EnvironmentThis role operates primarily in a construction project environment, with a mix of field and office work. The HSE Manager travels between job sites as required and may spend time in a project office to complete planning, reporting, and coordination activities. The position requires the ability to stand, sit, walk, and climb stairs or ladders while performing site inspections and audits. Work is performed in active construction settings, which may involve exposure to outdoor conditions, varying weather, and typical construction equipment and activities. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Tampa, FL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $89000.00 - $111000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.• Project Bonus that you can receive every time 25% is complete • 2 weeks of PTO, then you accrue hours. • Holiday Pay is standard • Full Benefits and Good benefits, 401k • Will pay for / reimburse certificates if someone is interested • Company Vehicle?
