How you’ll make an impact in this role
• Execute Comprehensive Financial Clearances: Verify insurance benefits and secure timely prior authorizations for in-office procedures as well as inpatient and outpatient surgical cases.
• Master Multi-Surgeon Scheduling Logistics: Manage dedicated surgical and clinic schedules for 2 of 4 practice surgeons, while maintaining cross-trained readiness to cover all 4 provider calendars as needed.
• Deliver Transparent Patient Financial Counseling: Calculate and provide accurate surgical fee estimates to patients, collect upfront payments, and structure manageable payment plans prior to procedure dates.
• Manage Referral & Incoming Patient Pathways: Handle high-volume inbound phone queries, schedule specialist appointments, and process incoming patient referrals with speed and clinical accuracy.
• Drive Front-Desk & Patient Intake Operations: Provide cross-functional front-desk coverage, managing seamless patient check-in/check-out workflows, collecting co-pays, and updating EHR demographic files.
• Provide Cross-Clinic Operational Backup: Serve as an agile back-up scheduler for partner specialty clinics across the medical group network (AMG) as operational needs arise.
What minimum requirements you’ll need Education:
• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
What additional preferences we're seeking
• Proven Prior Authorization & Insurance Agility: Functional experience verifying insurance benefits, auditing payor guidelines, and navigating online portals to secure surgical prior authorizations.
• Medical Office & Clinical Foundation: Prior administrative or operational experience within a medical practice or specialty clinic environment.
• Solid Medical Terminology Fluency: Familiarity with clinical terminology, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and surgical ordering workflows.
• Multitasking & Prioritization Command: A proactive, highly organized professional capable of balancing surgical authorizations, front-desk interactions, and phone queues simultaneously.
• Financial Communication & Customer Service Savvy: Excellent verbal communication and diplomatic negotiation skills to discuss fee estimates and payment plans with patients comfortably.
