Location Mehsana SMT Tube PU, India
Tactical Buyer work focus involve:
• Plan, implement, and monitor procurement activities for indirect materials, services, operational requirements, and capital projects. • Lead, supervise, and develop the Indirect Purchase team to achieve departmental objectives.
• Ensure timely procurement of goods and services in line with business requirements, technical specifications, and company standards.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and service performance.
• Manage contracts and commercial agreements related to indirect procurement.
• Develop and manage the supplier portfolio, including cost analysis, strategic sourcing, and vendor performance.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers to ensure business continuity.
• Manage supplier payment terms and coordinate timely processing of supplier payments.
• Support plant operations by procuring consumables, spares, and services at competitive prices.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, statutory requirements, and internal controls.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits related to indirect procurement.
• Maintain procurement MIS, reports, and documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement, cost optimization, and operational excellence initiatives.
• Ensure departmental records and processes comply with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other applicable management system requirements.OHSAS 18001,
EHS Responsibility
• Ensure effective HR governance through robust MIS, analytics, reporting systems, and management reviews. • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including management, unions, consultants, and government authorities. • Support strategic business decisions through data-driven HR insights and organizational benchmarking.
Authority:
• Authority to stop unsafe process, work, task or behaviour in order to prevent any potential harm to the people, environment or property.
Accountability:
• Proactively work to prevent/ resolve performance issues with assigned tasks to ensure effective and timely resolution of tasks/ challenges.

• Audit coordinator for Indirect Purchase department • Capex & project tracker updating • Training Co-Ordinator for the department • Any other roles & responsibility as arises

Experience:
• Minimum 10–15 years of progressive experience in Indirect Procurement/Purchase, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering industry. • Proven experience in procurement of MRO items, Capex, services, utilities, consumables, and project-related purchases. • Strong exposure to supplier development, contract management, commercial negotiations, and cost optimization. • Experience in working with ERP/SAP and managing procurement-related audits and compliance. • Prior experience in leading and developing a procurement team will be an added advantage.
Education: Bachelor of Mechanical engineering
