The Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI) is seeking to recruit seven highly motivated Clinical Research Assistants (CRAs) to join the Siyakhula Cohort within the Mental Health Unit.

The successful candidates will be responsible for conducting assessments with cohort participants, including, but not limited to, clinical interviews, objective cognitive assessments, and other standardized measures of mental health, physical health, and overall well-being. The CRAs will also be responsible for ensuring adherence to ethical standards and for implementing data collection procedures in accordance with approved study protocols.

These positions will be based at AHRI-Somkhele Research campus.Overview of Duties

• Support with translation of proposed study materials into isiZulu. • Attend all necessary trainings on different data collection tools. • Conduct informed consent and ultra-brief telephonic or in-person interview with participants. • Conduct longer full questionnaire data collection with participants when needed. • Keep records of all processes, and study paperwork related to these activities. • Refer participants with psychosocial concerns or potential adverse events appropriately to the participation protection team.

Minimum Qualifications

• Matric Certificate or any equivalent certification. • A valid South African Code 08 or 10 Driver’s license with at least 2 years driving experience.

Minimum Experience

• Two years related experience in a similar role.

Skills Required

• Good verbal and written communication skills in English. • Accuracy and precision; • High computer literacy • Report writing • Must be able to work under pressure;
