Dishroom Operator – Full-Time Location: AdventHealth Lenexa City Center Schedule: Full-Time Job Summary The Dishroom Operator supports Food and Nutrition Services operations by ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation, and proper handling of foodservice equipment, serviceware, patient trays, and meal delivery equipment. This position plays a critical role in maintaining food safety and sanitation standards while supporting patient meal service, tray line operations, and nourishment distribution. The Dishroom Operator helps ensure efficient, timely, and compliant foodservice operations by maintaining a clean and organized work environment and adhering to established safety and infection prevention standards. Essential Functions
• Operates dishwashing equipment and utilizes approved cleaning and sanitizing procedures to properly clean dishes, flatware, utensils, pots, pans, trays, and kitchen equipment.
• Prepares serviceware and equipment for cleaning by scraping, rinsing, and presoaking items to remove food and debris prior to washing.
• Ensures all cleaned items meet established sanitation and quality standards before returning them to service.
• Delivers patient meal trays and late trays accurately and timely while following patient identification, confidentiality, and service standards.
• Transports meal carts, nourishment carts, and related foodservice equipment to and from patient care areas.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of meal carts, nourishment carts, dishwashing equipment, and assigned work areas.
• Restocks clean dishes, flatware, trays, utensils, and serviceware to designated storage locations using proper handling procedures.
• Monitors dishroom sanitation logs, chemical concentrations, equipment performance, and cleaning schedules to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
• Maintains inventory of dishroom and cleaning supplies and communicates replenishment needs to leadership.
• Supports tray line operations and assists with patient meal production activities as assigned.
• Maintains compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, infection prevention practices, and departmental policies.
• Promotes a clean, safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Work Experience
• Food service, hospitality, healthcare, environmental services, or related experience preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
• Food Handler Certificate (FHC) preferred.
Additional Information
• Food Safety Handler Certificate preferred or required in accordance with applicable state regulations. This position requires standing, walking, lifting, pushing meal carts, and working in a fast-paced foodservice environment while maintaining high standards of sanitation, safety, and customer service.
Pay Range:
