Job summary

Are you a procurement professional ready to make your skills count where it matters - improving patient care?

We're looking for a Contract Manager to join our friendly and experienced Procurement Team at Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. You'll use your commercial expertise and public sector knowledge to directly contribute to the quality, efficiency and impact of NHS services across the region.

We're looking for a team player who can:

Take the lead in managing the effective use of NHS Supply Chain arrangements and Temporary Staffing Agency frameworks/contracts

Support the standardisation of medical equipment and consumables

Support the management of high value contracts

Negotiate effectively with suppliers and stakeholders

Drive cost-saving initiatives and value for money

Support service improvements that benefit patient care

You'll support the Head of Procurement to meet financial targets, maintain governance standards and promote procurement excellence at all levels of the organisation.

Main duties of the job

The Contract Manager will help implement and manage contracts to ensure that they run effectively and have a positive impact on patient care. Special focus will be given to managing:

Temporary staffing agencies used by the Trust in conjunction with the Temporary Staffing Team, ensuring SLAs are established and proper behaviours followed.

NHS Supply Chain, particularly working with Clinicians and others to rationalise the products used.

To maintain and develop Contract Management skills. To maintain knowledge of Procurement requirements, both wider procurement legislation and NHS specific requirements.
