Job summary
We are an award winning, friendly and dynamic ward caring for a diverse group of patients with a special interest in Respiratory. On Intwood , we pride ourselves in providing excellent care to our patients who comprise primarily of Respiratory patients, together with Cardiology. We strive to have 7 days per week clerical cover to allow the ward to run smoothly and efficiently.
We are a passionate team and are supportive of those staff who are interested in self-development.
Main duties of the job
Our team of ward clerks cover the ward 7 days per week, generally working long days to enable continuity and assist with the smooth running of the ward. This will include some weekend work.The ward clerk serves as the vital administrative hub of the ward, bridging the gap between patients, relatives and medical staff.Typical duties involve managing patient records, booking appointments, answering calls and greeting visitors.Vital skills are Communication, Admin and IT. Other skills are the ability to support nursing staff of clerical duties to enable them to focus entirely on clinical care.Previous administration or patient facing experience is preferred, although full on the job NHS training is provided.
