Job summary

We are looking for a motivated and reliable Housekeeper to join our friendly and dedicated housekeeping team. You will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors and colleagues.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will help ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are consistently maintained. The role requires attention to detail, a positive attitude, good communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Previous housekeeping experience is desirable.

Main duties of the job

As a Housekeeper within Dermatology, you will play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff. You will work as part of the housekeeping team to ensure the department is well stocked, clean and meets all the requirements to enable clinics to run smoothly.

Your duties will include monitoring and ordering stock, safely disposing of waste, and promptly reporting faults, hazards and maintenance issues. You will support the senior nursing team in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene, ensuring equipment is serviced within Trust timescales. You will also assist with the smooth running of the department, including photocopying and collecting and delivering items to the pharmacy and other departments.

We are looking for someone who is reliable, conscientious and takes pride in their work, with good attention to detail and the ability to communicate respectfully with patients and colleagues. You should be able to organise your workload, work independently when required and contribute positively to the wider team.

Full training and support will be provided.
