About this role

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Data & Analytics Team at the Northern Care Alliance for an experienced and motivated Corporate Information Lead to join the team on a secondment / fixed-term maternity cover basis.

The Corporate Information Team plays a critical role in supporting operational, clinical and corporate decision-making across the organisation through the provision of high-quality information, performance reporting, data quality management and analytical expertise. The team is at the heart of ensuring that leaders have access to accurate, timely and trusted information to drive improvement in patient care and organisational performance.

The successful candidate will provide operational leadership to the Corporate Information function, managing a multidisciplinary team, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the effective delivery of corporate reporting, performance intelligence and data quality initiatives. You will be a confident communicator with strong leadership skills and a passion for using data and information to improve services and support better outcomes for patients and staff.

Main duties of the job

Lead and manage the Corporate Information Team, providing direction, support and professional leadership to a team of analysts responsible for delivering high-quality information services across the Northern Care Alliance.

Oversee the production, validation and timely submission of statutory, regulatory and external reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with national standards and reporting deadlines.

Manage the delivery of Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, Care Quality Commission (CQC) information requests and other external data returns, ensuring responses are accurate, robust and completed within required timescales.

Lead the implementation of updates, changes and new requirements relating to national datasets, external reporting specifications and regulatory returns, ensuring reporting processes remain compliant and fit for purpose.

Provide assurance on the quality, accuracy and integrity of data submitted externally, working collaboratively with operational, clinical and corporate teams to identify and resolve data quality issues.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior operational, clinical and corporate stakeholders, providing expert advice on performance reporting, information management and data quality matters.

Ensure effective governance arrangements are in place to support corporate reporting, performance management and organisational decision-making, maintaining confidence in the information used throughout the Trust.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Masters degree or equivalent professional qualification/experience. Evidence of relevant continued professional development in a specialist informatics area.

Knowledge Essential

Significant NHS experience of working with health-related data Good understanding of performance management, data manipulation and analysis within the NHS.

Skills Essential

Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate complex information clearly to a wide audience, verbally and in writing. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, achieve deadlines and respond quickly to change. Ability to use SQL
