About this role

Job summary Commercial Analyst Location: Our head office on Portland, Dorset DT5 1BB. Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 depending on experience Contract: Permanent, full-time Are you an analytical and commercially minded finance professional who enjoys using data to influence business decisions? We are creating a new Commercial Analyst role to provide financial and commercial insight across our Bids, Contracts and Procurement functions. You will help us assess new business opportunities, develop tender pricing, understand the profitability of our live contracts and respond effectively to increasing costs and funding pressures. This is a varied role with the opportunity to work closely with Finance, Operations, Business Development, Procurement and senior leaders. You will turn complex data into practical recommendations that support profitable growth, sustainable contracts and better commercial decision-making. What you will do Develop cost and pricing models for bids and new business opportunities. Provide financial analysis to support bid/no-bid decisions. Complete tender pricing schedules accurately and within deadlines. Analyse contract profitability, margins, fee rates, occupancy and productivity. What you will do

Analyse contract profitability, margins, fee rates, occupancy and productivity. Develop dashboards and reports identifying commercial risks and opportunities. Model the impact of wage increases, inflation and other cost pressures. Support annual fee uplift submissions to Local Authorities, NHS commissioners and other funding bodies. Analyse supplier expenditure and identify potential savings and efficiencies. Support procurement exercises, supplier evaluations and contract negotiations. Prepare business cases, sensitivity analysis and commercial reports for senior decision-makers.What you will bring

Previous experience in a similar commercial, finance or analytical role. Experience of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting or cost modelling. Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills. Strong numerical reasoning and attention to detail. The ability to work with complex datasets and explain findings clearly. Strong organisation and the ability to manage competing deadlines. A proactive approach and the confidence to work independently. Effective stakeholder engagement and communication skills. Relevant qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related subject.Experience of health or social care, public procurement, Local Authority or NHS funding, or contract profitability analysis would be desirable but is not essential.

Qualifications Essential
