Sign Up to Help 8th Graders Ace Future High School Interviews! Our 8th graders are hard at work preparing their high school applications, and practicing interview skills is a key step in the process. That’s where you come in! As a volunteer, you’ll step into the role of a high school admissions counselor giving students the chance to practice, gain confidence, and receive valuable feedback in a supportive environment. Date: Saturday, October 3rd Time: 10am - 1pm Location: Town School, 540 E 76th St, New York, NY 10021 Volunteers will lead 8th graders through a 20-minute sample high school admissions interview. Breakthrough New York will provide an interview guide with questions to ask and a rubric to measure students' responses. After the mock interview, volunteers will provide feedback based on the rubric and work with students on applying it and refining their answers. Volunteers will repeat this process for the three students they interview. First-time volunteers will be asked to complete short background check.
