About the role We are delighted to announce that we are looking for a talented Technician - Field Support to join our team in Midrand, South Africa, as a future shaper. In this exciting role, you will play a key part in delivering safe, reliable and customer-focused technical support for surveying instruments, equipment and digital solutions. Working across customer and mine sites, you will help ensure the successful deployment, operation and optimisation of industry-leading technology that supports drilling, surveying and mining activities. Regular travel will provide the opportunity to work with a diverse range of customers, build strong professional relationships and contribute to solving complex technical challenges in the field. As a trusted technical expert, you will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of safety, quality and service while helping customers maximise the value of our solutions and achieve operational excellence. What you will be doing • Provide onsite and remote technical support, including installation, configuration, operation and troubleshooting of equipment and software. • Conduct equipment inspections, performance checks, preventative maintenance and authorised repairs to ensure operational readiness. • Perform equipment QA/QC activities, calibration checks and maintain a safe, organised workshop environment. • Complete service reports, document technical findings and ensure customer enquiries are resolved efficiently and professionally. • Extract, process and quality-check survey data while supporting customers with approved workflows and technical guidance. • Deliver product demonstrations and customer training, ensuring users understand the safe and effective operation of equipment, software and approved workflows. What you will bring • Technical qualification or practical experience in mechanical systems, mining, drilling or a related field. • Experience using directional downhole and orientation tooling, survey equipment, mobile devices and computer-based systems. • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to follow technical procedures and maintain accurate records. • Clear written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to train and support users with varying levels of technical knowledge. • A valid driver's licence and passport, with the ability to meet customer, security, medical and site access requirements. • Flexibility and willingness to travel regularly and work at remote surface or underground sites when required.
