The role exists to drive technology strategy, governance, and operational excellence by translating business objectives into clear technology priorities and strategic roadmaps. It ensures strategic initiatives and projects are aligned with corporate strategy, enterprise architecture, governance frameworks, and business priorities. The role optimizes technology investments and resources while evaluating emerging technologies and transformation opportunities. It provides effective portfolio governance, performance monitoring, risk and change management, and executive reporting. The role drives continuous improvement and ensures technology initiatives deliver measurable business value and sustainable organizational outcomes. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ACTIVITIES – Strategy This section describes the principal outputs required from the job. Key Accountabilities Key Activities Technology Strategy & Roadmap Strategy Development: Define and maintain the Technology Strategy aligned with business and corporate objectives. Strategic Roadmap: Develop and maintain the technology roadmap, priorities, initiatives, milestones, and target outcomes. Strategy Review: Periodically review and update the strategy based on business needs, organizational priorities, and technology trends. Strategic Portfolio & Investment Initiative Prioritization: Evaluate and prioritize initiatives based on business value, strategic alignment, urgency, and expected benefits. Portfolio Management: Ensure projects, investments, budgets, and resources are aligned with approved strategic priorities. Performance Optimization: Identify investment gaps, overlaps, resource constraints, and opportunities for portfolio optimization. Architecture, Innovation & Technology Architecture Alignment: Ensure technology initiatives comply with approved Enterprise Architecture principles, standards, and target-state architecture. Technology Assessment: Assess emerging technologies and evaluate their suitability, value, risks, and implementation requirements. Innovation & Transformation: Identify opportunities for AI, cloud, automation, digital transformation, and technology modernization. Strategy Performance & Executive Governance Performance & Benefits: Define and monitor strategic KPIs, initiative progress, benefits realization, risks, and dependencies. Executive Reporting: Prepare strategic dashboards and reports highlighting performance, risks, gaps, and key recommendations. Decision Support: Provide management and executives with timely, accurate, and data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making. Project Planning, Control & Portfolio Management Project Planning & Baseline: Ensure approved scope, schedule, milestones, resources, deliverables, and project baselines are established. Project Monitoring: Monitor project progress, RAG status, milestones, KPIs, and performance against approved baselines. Portfolio Management: Consolidate project information into dashboards and reports to provide visibility of overall portfolio health and performance. Project Risk, Change & Control RAID Management: Establish and monitor Risk, Assumption, Issue, and Dependency (RAID) registers and ensure appropriate mitigation actions are implemented. Change & Deviation Control: Review and control changes to project scope, schedule, cost, resources, and approved baselines. Hold, Extension & Escalation: Ensure required approvals are obtained for project changes, holds, cancellations, or extensions and escalate critical risks and issues to management. Technology Governance & Compliance Governance Frameworks: Support the implementation and continuous enhancement of technology governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures. Compliance Monitoring: Monitor adherence to approved technology policies, governance requirements, and enterprise standards across technology initiatives and projects. Continuous Improvement & Technology Excellence Maturity Assessment: Assess technology planning, governance, portfolio, and project management practices against approved frameworks, internal requirements, and recognized industry practices. Improvement Initiatives: Identify process gaps, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities, and develop practical recommendations and action plans to enhance technology effectiveness and operational maturity. Policies, Processes & Procedures Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner. Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment. Information Security Comply with all relevant information security practices and standards to ensure data integrity and confidentiality. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Academic and professional qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications related technology disciplines are considered an advantage. Years and Nature of Experience 4–6 years of experience in technology strategy, strategic initiatives, technology planning, innovation, or related roles, with experience in strategic planning, project delivery, portfolio management, technology governance, performance monitoring, innovation initiatives, and cross-functional technology environments .
