Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician Job Summary: This position is located at the Milliken - Magnolia site in Blacksburg, SC. The Technician reports to the Building Maintenance Engineer. This position is responsible for working safely to provide expedient service to the facility’s equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and quality performance involved with manufacturing and processing our products. The position requires the ability to service and maintain the plants fire systems to include but not limited to sprinkler systems, fire pumps, FM200, and dry powered suppression systems and devises. The position requires the ability to work with outside contractors and to learn and use the outside contractor permitting processes. Key Responsibilities: · Demonstrate a high level of safety consciousness and fully participate in the Milliken Safety Process · Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment · Maintain plant facilities to include restrooms · Provide scheduled maintenance repairs, inspections and audits of building maintenance equipment and maintain records as required. · Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of building maintenance equipment · Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required equipment service · Assist other engineering associates to perform work as required to keep production machinery and auxiliary equipment in working order · Inform appropriate management and maintenance/production associates of potential mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved · Assist other maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting · Other duties as requested by management The successful candidate will demonstrate skills in the following: · Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems · Industrial plumbing · Industrial fan maintenance · Plant chiller and cooling tower maintenance · Fire suppression systems · Fire alarm systems and testing · HVAC filter changes · Plant drainage systems · Knowledge of confined space procedures · Roof Inspections and maintenance · Fabrication and Carpentry skills · Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment · Able to work well with various groups of people such as vendors, customers, Milliken associates whether individually or in a team environment · Able to work well and communicate with production associates in order to assist with repairs and troubleshooting · Able to lift and move objects of 50 pounds and be capable of using motorized equipment (fork trucks, tuggers, scissor lift and articulating boom lift, etc.) · Ability to work from heights Pay Rate: 22.55-25.02 Milliken is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to actual or perceived race, color, creed, religion, sex or gender (including pregnancy, childbirth or related medical condition, including but not limited to lactation), sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression (including transgender status), ancestry, national origin, citizenship, age physical or mental disability, genetic information, marital status, veteran or military status or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
