Position Summary The Industrial Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving manufacturing processes to achieve operational excellence, cost efficiency, and productivity improvements. This role drives process optimization initiatives, supports investment planning, implements lean manufacturing principles, and collaborates across functions to ensure a synchronized and high-performing production environment. The position plays a key role in supporting innovation and contributing to the future of sustainable mobility. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement measures to optimize manufacturing processes, productivity, quality, and operational performance. Define, evaluate, and budget planned production investments, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational requirements. Establish performance indicators and monitor the effectiveness of process improvements and manufacturing optimization initiatives. Introduce and support synchronized manufacturing processes, driving balanced production flow and implementing pull-system principles. Identify waste throughout production processes and eliminate root causes of machine and process-related issues to improve efficiency and productivity. Manage external development partners and ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and according to quality standards. Collaborate closely with all departments across the production value chain, including Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Finance. Conduct and coordinate training programs on newly implemented workflows, processes, and continuous improvement methodologies within the Energy Team. Support innovation and contribute to shaping solutions of the future through advanced manufacturing concepts and technologies. Negotiate and finalize finance-related contract agreements and intercompany agreements in coordination with relevant stakeholders. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other operational excellence methodologies. Ensure compliance with company standards, safety regulations, and applicable industry requirements. Qualifications Education Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline from a University of Applied Sciences or Technical University. Experience Several years of professional experience in the planning, implementation, and optimization of production and manufacturing processes. Proven experience managing process improvement and operational excellence projects in a manufacturing environment. Experience working with cross-functional teams and external partners. Knowledge and Skills Strong knowledge of process management and continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and related tools. Solid understanding of manufacturing systems, production planning, process optimization, and productivity improvement techniques. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions. Excellent project management and stakeholder management capabilities. Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels. Proficiency in standard engineering and productivity analysis tools. The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Springfield is $83,300 to $125,600 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. Zelisko is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations.
