Job Description About the Team Ensure that the production processes within the assigned lines meet customer requirements based on the company's techniques, procedures, and policies. The purpose is to achieve the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Morale results defined in the business plan, ensuring the accomplishment of the Business Unit's objectives. What You can look forward to as a Sr Supplier Development Engineer: Develop existing suppliers with quality issues through supplier assessments, process audits, risk analysis, and capability evaluations to ensure compliance with quality standards. Lead the technical evaluation and approval of new suppliers through manufacturing, quality, capacity, and risk assessments. Assess manufacturing, quality, and capacity feasibility while ensuring compliance with internal and customer requirements. Lead APQP, PPAP, Process Release Audits, and Run@Rate activities for new components, technologies, and complex products to ensure successful launches. Drive supplier development and performance improvement initiatives to achieve quality, delivery, and operational targets. Collaborate with Purchasing, Project Buyers, and Direct Material Buyers in supplier selection, approval, and sourcing decisions. Support Material Planners and cross-functional teams during supplier quality and delivery escalations. Support supplier negotiations by providing technical and quality expertise to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance. Your Profile as a Sr Supplier Development Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field. Experience with automotive commodities such as stampings, machined components, castings, driveline, or chassis systems. 2+ years of experience in the same position (5+ years preferred for Senior-level consideration). Previous experience in Quality area, Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, Manufacturing Quality, or Quality Engineering within the automotive industry Advanced use of problem-solving tools and Core Quality Tools (Core Tools) and strong knowledge of IATF 16949. Experience conducting supplier audits and process assessments; VDA 6.3 certification is preferred. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and material requirements. Advanced conversational English is required Willingness to travel 30-50% throughout the U.S. and Mexico (VISA is a must) Why Choose ZF El Salto?
