Job summary
Bordesley East PCN is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive Primary Care Network team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work across two well-established practices within the PCN, delivering high-quality patient-centred care to a diverse population in East Birmingham. The successful candidate will undertake 3 sessions per week, comprising 2 sessions at Garratts Green Lane Surgery and 1 session at Downsfield Medical Practice.
We are a progressive and forward-thinking PCN serving almost 40,000 patients, with a strong focus on innovation, multidisciplinary working, and improving outcomes for our local community.
The post holder will work closely with experienced clinical and administrative teams and benefit from the support of a well-developed multidisciplinary workforce including Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, First Contact Physiotherapists, Social Prescribers, Mental Health Practitioners, Care Coordinators, General Practice Assistants, and Physician Associates.
This role is ideal for a newly qualified GP or an experienced GP looking to develop their career within a supportive PCN environment.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive primary medical services and will be responsible for:
Conducting face-to-face, telephone and online consultations. Assessing, diagnosing, treating and managing a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. Managing patients with complex needs and long-term conditions. Making professional autonomous decisions regarding patient care and treatment. Reviewing and actioning test results, prescriptions, referrals and clinical correspondence. Undertaking home visits where appropriate. Maintaining accurate, contemporaneous and comprehensive patient records. Prescribing safely and effectively in accordance with national guidance and local formulary recommendations. Working collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to provide integrated care. Participating in practice and PCN quality improvement initiatives, audits and enhanced services. Supporting the achievement of contractual requirements including QOF and other quality standards. Contributing to safeguarding, clinical governance and risk management processes.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Essential GMC registered medical practitioner with a licence to practise. MRCGP or equivalent qualification. Certificate of Completion of Training CCT or working towards CCT. Inclusion on the NHS England Performers List. Evidence of continued professional development.
Desirable
Experience of working within a Primary Care Network. Additional clinical qualifications or specialist interests relevant to primary care.

Experience of EMIS Web clinical system. Experience of Systm One clinical system. Knowledge of the role and function of Primary Care Networks. Understanding of local population health needs and health inequalities. Experience of service development, quality improvement or clinical audit. Knowledge of current NHS policies and primary care developments.
