Practice Nurse Wanted
We are a well-established, popular and friendly practice at the heart of the local community in Hendon, London NW4 and are seeking a Practice Nurse to join our forward-thinking team
We are a training and teaching practice on a single site that is practice-owned and have 12,000 patients with a full range of clinical and non-clinical team members. We are a major contributor to a successful and supportive PCN and have an active group of Patient Champions. We are QOF high achievers and rated GOOD by CQC with some outstanding points of note
We offer flexible working hours and are seeking someone who can work up to 3 days a week. Experiences in diabetes management is desirable and would be considered an advantage.
You will be working alongside our fantastic nursing team which consists currently of two practice nurses and two HCAs.

Salary is competitive and dependant on experience, and includes indemnity costs.

Main duties of the job
The Practice Nurse at St George's Medical Centre is managerially responsible to the Practice Manager, clinically responsible to the Lead Practice Nurse, and accountable to The Partners.
Key Clinical Duties
Diagnosing, monitoring, and managing long-term conditions. Reviewing medication for therapeutic effectiveness. Managing health promotion programs like smoking cessation and weight management. Administering adult, child, and travel vaccinations. Delivering evidence-based wound care Delivering NHS health programmes, e.g. cervical screening.Quality and Governance
Practising within the NMC professional code of conduct. Maintaining accurate, complete, and contemporaneous patient records. Aligning clinical care with NICE, CQC, and NSF guidelines. Participating in clinical audits (e.g. IPC) and searches for QOF.Health, Safety, and Confidentiality
Complying with the Data Protection Act and Caldicott Report principles. Managing bodily fluid spills promptly using designated spill kits. Adhering strictly to local and national infection control measures. Identifying and referring cases regarding domestic abuse and vulnerable people.Professional Development & Teamwork
Actively participating in annual appraisals and clinical supervision. Supporting the training and development of colleagues. Delegating duties appropriately based on competence assessments. Attending regular clinical and administrative team meetings.

Person Specification
Experience Essential
2+ years post registration experience Evidence of post registration training and education Competent time management and organisational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Evidence of multidisciplinary team working, and a good team player. Good communication skills (verbal and written) Computer literate
Desirable
Management of patients with long term conditions and health promotion strategies Experience knowledge and understanding of local and national primary care issues Awareness of clinical governance issues in primary care Clinical Skills see job description Experience with QOF.
Qualifications Essential
Registration First Level Nurse. NMC Registration. Trained in diabetes reviews, but if not willing to undertake training. Trianed to perform Cervical Screening, immunisations, travel clinic advice etc.,
Desirable
Completion of practice nurse foundation course or equivalent Other relevant specialist PN training. Asthma and COPD trained.
