Job summary
Location: Likewise Portland House, 243 Shalesmoor, Sheffield S3 8UG 4 days per week and 1 day per week at 55 Wicker, Sheffield S3 8HT
Working Hours: 37 hours, Monday - Friday with an 11am - 7pm clinic once per fortnight
As a Health and Wellbeing Nurse, you will work as an integral member of the wider clinical team within the Likewise Sheffield service, providing high-quality, person-centred nursing care to people experiencing drug and/or alcohol-related difficulties. You will promote physical and psychological wellbeing, reduce health inequalities, minimise drug- and alcohol-related harm, and support service users to access appropriate healthcare and treatment.
Main duties of the job
Carry out alcohol assessments and support community alcohol detoxifications, including monitoring, clinical review and health education.
Make appropriate referrals to external providers, specialist services, hospitals, GPs and other support networks, including mutual aid.
Provide comprehensive healthcare assessments for people using drugs and/or alcohol, identifying physical health, mental health and psychosocial needs and making appropriate onward referrals.
Undertake clinical observations, physical health monitoring and investigations, including blood tests, ECGs and other health screening, in accordance with competency, local policy and clinical need.
Undertake blood-borne virus (BBV) screening, including hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV testing where appropriate, provide results in a sensitive and supportive manner, and facilitate appropriate onward referral and treatment.
Provide and coordinate hepatitis A and B vaccinations
Promote harm reduction, including safer injecting advice, overdose prevention, wound care and appropriate provision of naloxone.
Deliver sexual health interventions, including testing, education, and onward referral to specialist sexual health services where required.

To Succeed in This Role, Youll Need: You will have an interest in bridging the gap between health and equality. You will have a strong interest in working with vulnerable people. Registered Nurse: You are a dedicated and registered nurse, either as a general nurse or psychiatric nurse, with the qualifications and commitment to provide exceptional care. Clinical Expertise: You have experience in assessing clients to meet healthcare, clinical, and psychosocial needs, including addressing issues related to Blood-Borne Viruses (BBV). Your clinical knowledge is a foundation for providing high-quality care. Health Promotion and Harm Reduction: You bring experience in health promotion and harm reduction interventions. Your ability to provide advice and information plays a crucial role in supporting individuals on their journey to recovery. Driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferable due to working across various sites.
